Coralyn Canfor-Dumas founded Youngstars Theatre School in September 2000, after over twenty years experience in professional theatre, film, tv and radio as an actress, BBC broadcaster and presenter, writer, teacher, lecturer and examiner.

 The Principal Of Youngstars

As important as Coralyn's work and connections in 'show business' is her experience as a teacher.

She has taught English and Drama in many schools and colleges, and has lectured in Drama and Drama & Communications, at universities in the UK and Canada. Former head of Speech and Drama at the Beacon School, Amersham, she is now a trustee of Arts Educational College London and an International Lamda Drama Examiner. She is also a licensed chaperone.

Coralyn has a rare combination of performance experience, teaching skills and continuing close links to the profession - her husband writes television drama (The Bill, Kavanagh QC, Tough Love, Pompeii: The Last Day, Super Volcano, Super Storm). Her daughter has appeared on TV in the BBC's Berkeley Square, ITV's Midsomer Murders and The Forsyte Saga and on stage with the English National Opera.

This means that Coralyn is well qualified to cherish and develop each child's individual potential, while maintaining realistic expectations.
